Long-time Clearfield County Sheriff's Office employee retires

CLEARFIELD -- Marilyn Hamm retired from the Clearfield County Sheriff's Office after more than 43 years in the department and 44-plus years working with the county.
Hamm took a job with the county in February of 1973, several years after graduating high school.
She took the job at the sheriff's office in January of 1974. Over her more than 40 years, she said that the office has expanded drastically and has gone from one office to two and the workload has steadily increased over the years.
She said she will miss her co-workers the most, but she is excited to take a trip to Florida Tuesday to celebrate her retirement.
The department threw her a surprise party Sept. 9, also her 65th birthday, to honor her for her years of service.
