Boy, 5, hit by CamTran bus has multiple injuries, may need surgery

JOHNSTOWN – A 5-year-old boy was hit by a CamTran bus Wednesday while riding his bike in the Moxham section of the city.
Police said the accident occurred at the intersection of Jacob Street and Cypress Avenue.
The child was riding his bike when he darted out of an alley into the path of the bus.
Police said he was alert when first responders arrived.
The child was taken by helicopter to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC with serious injuries.
A 6 News reporter spoke with the boy's father on Thursday morning.
He said the boy's skull, vertebrae in his neck, shoulder and arm are fractured.
He also has a laceration on the liver which may require surgery.
